Experience the Wonders of Flores and Komodo: A 7-Day Adventure of Culture and Nature
Day 1: Denpasar – Labuan Bajo – Rinca (L/D/O) Embark on an early morning flight to Labuan Bajo in West Flores. Upon arrival, your guide will escort you to the port to begin your adventure to the unspoilt island of Rinca. Cruise through mangrove forests, arid savannah, and hilly islands with contrasting horizons of white sandy beaches and crystal-clear waters. After a two-hour boat ride, arrive in Rinca and spot the infamous Komodo dragons with the guidance of a park ranger. Spend your first night on the boat under the stars, where you can enjoy fishing, playing cards, or stargazing.
Day 2: Rinca – Komodo – Bidadari – Labuan Bajo (B/L/O) Start your day early with a sunrise trip to Komodo Island. Snorkel and swim at the stunning Pink Beach, known for its vibrant underwater world. After lunch, head to Pulau Kalong to witness the spectacular sight of flying foxes at dusk. Enjoy a beautiful sunset before spending the night in Labuan Bajo.
Day 3: Labuan Bajo – Ruteng (B/L/O) After breakfast, visit the fish market and explore Goa Batu Cermin. Drive uphill to Melo for panoramic views of the enchanting flower island of Flores. Visit a traditional village in Cancar to meet the locals and admire the cobweb-like paddy fields. Arrive in the cool highlands of Ruteng and spend the night at MBC Susteran Ruteng.
Day 4: Ruteng – Bajawa (O/B/L) Depart early to discover the prehistory of Flores at Loh Liang. Explore the Liang Bua cave, where the 18,000-year-old skeleton of Homo floresiensis, also known as the “Hobbit,” was discovered. Sail to the picturesque Ranamese Crater Lake and enjoy a lunch break at Borong Beach. Before reaching Bajawa, stop at Aimere, known for palm liquor production. Refresh yourself at the Mengeruda Hot Springs and spend the night in Bajawa.
Day 5: Bajawa – Ende – Moni (O/B/L) Embark on a megalithic trek in the aboriginal villages of Wogo and Bena, nestled between valleys and rivers. Continue to Ende with a stop at the captivating Blue Stone Beach. After lunch, visit the Ende market before heading to Moni for dinner and an overnight stay at Kelimutu Eco Lodge.
Day 6: Moni – Kelimutu – Maumere (O/B/L) Start early to witness the sunrise over the three-colored crater lakes of Kelimutu. Optionally, hike to a nearby hot waterfall. Visit a traditional house called “Rumah Adat” in Jopu before continuing to Maumere, your last stop on Flores. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in Maumere.
Day 7: Maumere – Denpasar – Hotel (B) After breakfast, enjoy free time before your flight back to Denpasar. Upon arrival, transfer to your beach hotel and reminisce about your unforgettable adventure.
